Seascape Textile Art

Original seascape textile artwork inspired by freediving and my favourite beaches.

One of the things I love to do when freediving (diving on a single breath of air) is to slow my ascent and watch the surface of the water come closer as I float up. I love seeing the patterns, shapes, colours and reflections change on the sea's surface as I approach it.

These fibre art pieces use a variety of fabrics and techniques to create texture and colour including ribbon, organza, wool, felt, various textiles, ink and machine embroidery. I use machine stitch and hand embroidery and layer different fabrics over and over. I also use hand dyed fabrics and home made felt and paper to achieve the textures I require. No two pieces of my textile art are the same - see photos for different designs available.

These textile pieces are mounted and ready to be framed in a 10”x 8”size frame (frame not included).

The 10” x 8” mount is ivory textured card and the artwork measures 19.5 x 14.5cm. I have signed the front of the mount and signed and dated the back of the artwork.

Please contact me for more details or photos of a specific piece, other sizes available, info regarding framing service and any custom requests.
